My clients are asking me what they should be doing to minimize the impact of this pandemic on their businesses and I suspect that you’re wondering as well. I provided 5 specific steps here: doing business in a pandemic, what to focus on
However, I think that the most important thing we can do right now is to focus on our mindset.
A crisis is a call for leadership – and that requires a shift in mindset.
What we as business owners do in the coming weeks and months will come under scrutiny, of our families, our customers, our team, investors/lenders and our suppliers. We will be tested.
In order to be the leaders our people can count on, we must first, get our mindset right.
One of my favorite phrases is, “You’ve got to BE before you can DO and do before you can HAVE.” In short, you have to be a person of character and do the right things, and then you can have the things you really want.
Let me explain.
The VICTIM arranges their life in the order HAVE DO BE
“When I HAVE enough time, money and support, then I’ll DO the things I’ve always wanted to, and then I’ll BE happy and successful.
The WORKER is all about DO HAVE BE
The more I DO, the more I’ll HAVE. The more I’ll HAVE, the happier I’ll BE.
The leader orients their life quite differently: BE DO HAVE
It is not what do I need to HAVE before I can start, or what work do I need to DO… but who do I need to BE?
On March 24, I hosted a webinar on the topic of Mindset. You can find a recording link here
You hear it all the time: “success is a state of mind.”
Have you ever wondered how two people can go after the same goal in the same way and yet just one of them succeeds? Is it sheer luck? Timing? Perseverance?
More often than not, it’s a person’s mindset that determines whether they fail or succeed.
A mindset refers to your predominant state of mind day to day. It’s what you think about, focus on, and expect from your daily experiences.
The most successful entrepreneurs share a set of core skills, beliefs and values that help them persevere as they grow their businesses.
This talk will inspire you to adopt or refine the fundamental habits that create your success mindset.
In our “interesting times” now as much as ever, we get the opportunity to lead our people to achieve the best results possible given the circumstances.
Are you ready to BE the leader they need you to be? Success begins with Mindset. Is your mindset ready for success?
